Japanese Translation

Although this was a period of increased isolationism for USP, in 1947 the Board granted permission for the translation of USP monographs into Japanese to help support public health in occupied Japan. Due to wartime conditions, there had been no general revision of the Pharmacopoeia of Japan since its 5th revision in 1932. Furthermore, the 6th Revised Edition of the Pharmacopoeia of Japan published in 1950 was modeled after the 1947 revision of the USP.
