Course Description
This course will highlight the critical operational parameters of a dissolution apparatus that need to be accurately set. This course will also emphasize activities to be conducted for proper qualification of a USP dissolution apparatus 1 and/or apparatus 2. The focus will be on understanding potential sources of variability of dissolution results. This course will provide information about best practices for conducting the Performance Verification Test (PVT) and interpretation of the results.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain the importance of apparatus suitability and PVT knowledge to set up and qualify a dissolution apparatus (focus on apparatus 2)
- Identify the sources of variability that come from the dissolution apparatus performance
- Describe best practices for dissolution apparatus qualification
