Overview
USP will host the 2nd workshop on improving the quality of compounding to enhance patient safety through the development of standards for compounded medicines. The workshop will convene a wide range of stakeholders to explore current and emerging stakeholder needs in the compounding realm.
Topics of the Workshop:
- Explore current trends, initiatives and regulations for quality compounding
- Get involved in ongoing efforts to enhance the adoption and use of compounding standards that have the highest public health value
- Share perspectives, experiences and lessons learned along the journey towards the adoption of USP compounding standards
- Explore current and emerging stakeholder needs and strengthen partnerships among stakeholder organizations in the compounding milieu
- Create an agenda of critical actions to be implemented in order to enhance the creation, dissemination and use of USP compounding standards.
- Discuss ongoing strategies to improve patient safety through standardization of commonly compounded medicines
- Connect with peers and USP staff and identify ways to get involved
You should attend if you are a:
- Healthcare provider who prescribes, prepares or administers compounded medicine to meet the tailored needs of patients
- Academician who conducts research and development for compounded formulations
- Engineer/architect/technician who helps design, build or install workspaces and equipment used for compounding
- Source, manufacture or distribute API (active pharmaceutical ingredient), excipients, product or equipment for the compounding of medicine
- Represent a contract lab that tests and develops compounded formulations
- Drug manufacturer
- Representative of regulation or accreditation of compounding facilities at the state or federal level
Pricing Information
Registration is payable by credit card only. Registration fee includes the full two-day program, coffee breaks, lunches, and a networking reception. Registration fees for this workshop have been set as follows:

Advance registration will be available through August 1, 2019, 12 noon EST. After that date, registration will be available on site at the USP Meetings Center starting at 8 am EST August 6, 2019.
Cancellation and Substitution Policy
Cancellation must be received on or before July 11, 2019 via email to conferences@usp.org.
Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received after this date. There is a $50.00 processing fee on all cancellations; however, it is permissible to send a substitute registrant from your same organization without being subject to a fee for the change. Substitutions must be submitted in writing via email to conferences@usp.org.
Invitation Letters for Visas
USP cannot provide an invitation letter to potential workshop attendees; however, once you are registered, USP will provide a registration confirmation that may be utilized to obtain a visa.
