Overview:
USP is convening the 6th International qNMR Summit, the foremost colloquium of the qNMR practitioners. The Summit will examine the state of qNMR and address challenges of adopting qNMR as an analytical technique, review development of practical qNMR validation guidelines, and explore potential implications of qNMR implementation in industrial, contract laboratory and regulatory settings. The Summit will survey the latest advances and developments in the field, including those of instrumentation, data acquisition and management and novel applications. The Summit will work toward consolidating ongoing efforts and map out directions in which the field is progressing.

The Summit is co-sponsored by the Center for Natural Products Technologies (CENAPT) at the University of Illinois at Chicago, a leading institution advancing qNMR and supplying trained cadre to the industrial, academic and government research laboratories.

Goals:

  • Main General Objective: Continue establishing the foundation for ongoing dialog and scientific discussion with the global stakeholders including pharmacopoeias, industry, academia, regulatory authorities, and others interested in the use of qNMR for quality control and process development of pharmaceutical small molecules, fine chemicals, dietary supplements, and natural products.
  • Increase the adoption of qNMR in various research, regulatory and industry environments by allowing users to share best practices and new applications.
  • Nurture a community of qNMR users in analytical chemistry and biomedical analysis by connecting them to each other and providing a platform to showcase their work.
  • Provide insight into the USP’s work on establishing (q)NMR as a first-line analytical technique (e.g., General Chapter update, Remdesivir toolkit, etc.)
  • Provide understanding of the USP’s role in facilitating the adoption of emerging technologies and developing appropriate pharmacopeial framework.
  • Provide a mechanism for USP to identify potential partnerships and collaborations for the development of future standards.
  • Solidify the USP’s position as a forward-thinking organization that adopts and propagates qNMR and other promising technologies for compendial analysis.
