The USP Drug Classification PLUS is a new offering from USP that provides online, interactive access to the USP Drug Classification (FDA-approved drugs, organized by categories and classes). Users will be able to search for drugs by:
- Terminology Search
- Taxonomy Browser
- Terminology Mappings
Search results will quickly provide relevant drug classification information, as well as important coding information.
USP DC PLUS will provide:
- More frequent classification updates
- Easier system integration
- Enhanced search capabilities
- Access to NDC codes to connect with product and pricing information
- Access to RxNorm Concept Unique Identifiers (RxCUIs)
A subscription to this one-stop source will give you access to the most updated classified drugs and associated codes in two formats for your convenience:
- An online browser interface, known as Viewpoint, which offers an interactive search of the USP classification of FDA-approved drugs used in non-acute and outpatient care settings.
- A distribution platform, known as Content Cloud, which will enable you to easily download a ZIP file of USP DC PLUS and easily import the file with its additional features into relational database management systems.
The USP Drug Classification is offered as a 12-month online subscription.
