USP offers a Consolidated Fulfillment Service that utilizes a 3rd party logistics provider to ship and deliver your USP Store orders directly to your doorstep. The service manages the end-to-end shipping process, including the customs process and international duties and taxes. The goal of the Consolidated Fulfillment Service to create a seamless, simple, and more convenient process for customers. This includes reduced importation costs, and, in some cases, no importation costs at all.

Billing and Payment

Billing Invoices
All purchases from USP will be invoiced, regardless of which payment method is selected. Invoices are emailed electronically to the billing email address on file in your account for the order. Invoices, account activity, and available payment options may be accessed directly through your USP Store Account at https://store.usp.org.

Sales Tax
If your shipping address is located within any of the following states (territories), your order may be subject to sales tax, unless we have a current, unexpired tax exemption certificate on file. If applicable, submit a copy of your certificate, along with your customer account number, to taxexemptions@usp.org.

Payment Options
All payments must be remitted with customer account number and invoice number(s) to ensure timely and accurate processing.

Credit card: USP accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express for payments in US Dollars, Euros, British Pounds, and Canadian Dollars. Credit cards are billed when an order ships. Customers may also pay outstanding billing invoices by credit card directly from your USP Store account.

Checks, wires/bank transfers, and U.S. ACH payments: Only accepted as payment for customers purchasing with credit terms; not eligible for prepaid orders.

  • Check: Make checks payable to USP, in U.S. dollars, and drawn on a U.S. bank. Mail check payments to:

  • Wire/bank transfer and U.S. ACH: Bank remittance information is currency specific. Instructions are stated on the billing invoice. Certain supported currencies require a bank-designated purpose code (specified on the billing invoice); otherwise, it will be rejected by the bank. Customers are responsible for paying all bank fees for wire transfers. Call 1-800-227-8772 (U.S. and Canada), 00-800-4875-5555 (select Europe), or e-mail custsvc@usp.org for payment instructions.

USP may exercise discretion to apply cash receipts and credits on account to the oldest unpaid invoice first.

Account Statements
All accounts with outstanding invoices and/or unapplied cash receipts or credits will receive a monthly account statement. A statement may not reflect the entire balance due from all accounts with USP. Invoices, account activity, and available payment options may be accessed directly through your USP Store Account at https://store.usp.org.

Credit Hold
If your order is put on a credit hold by USP, you will receive an email notification to contact our Accounts Receivable team. The credit hold must be cleared within 30 days; otherwise, your order will be automatically cancelled.

Complimentary or Replacement Products

The price listed on your commercial invoice is for customs purposes only. If you incur customs charges on a complimentary or replacement shipment, please refer here to obtain reimbursement information for eligible orders.

Credit Application

Having credit terms will allow you to place orders directly on the USP online store and receive a billing invoice with payment due in 30 days from the date of invoice. Refer to the Terms & Conditions of Sale for Billing and Payment information.

All Provisional credit limits may be increased up to US$10,000 without requiring a credit application for all eligible customers, as determined by USP, upon customer request. For any credit lines requested above US$10,000, apply online and submit audited financial statements for the most recent 2 years with the application.

Processing time to review and transition, if approved, is expected to take up to 10 business days. If approved, the credit limit will be shown in your USP Store Account in the selected supported invoicing currency. USP will also notify the authorized requestor designated on the credit application with the credit decision.

Order Direct from USP

Authorized Distributors

International customers may order USP products directly from USP or from one of our Authorized Distributors. Download our authorized distributor list to find a USP Authorized Distributor in your region.

Using product resellers, such as book or chemical supply houses, can add up to eight weeks to your order fulfillment time. Typically, USP processes orders for all our customers in less than two business days. But USP cannot control how long a reseller keeps your order before giving it to USP for processing or how long they hold the product before passing it along to you.

Customs Clearance

USP does not offer customs clearance services. We suggest that you arrange for a customs broker to facilitate clearance or allow FedEx to clear customs for you. Customs clearance is often the longest part of your product delivery time. Customers are responsible for paying all customs duties, taxes, or tariffs levied for bringing USP products into your country.

Add On Services

  • Rush Order: This service is available for orders shipping only within the United States. USP will expedite processing of rush orders received until 12:00 PM EST daily with standard overnight delivery if no additional holds are applied on the order (Exceptions apply). This service does not guarantee same day delivery and service fee is non-refundable. 
  • Mexico Consular Certificate Service: This service is to obtain required Consular Certificate for importing controlled substances (Psychotropics and Drugs controlled in Mexico) from the Embassy of Mexico. This is a per-item fee and is applicable to each unique item ordered regardless of quantity. This service turnaround time is approximate 2 weeks. 
  • Legalization and Notarization: This service is to provide USP seal/stamp and wet signature of commercial documents and legalization/notarization by a consulate, embassy, or freight forwarder. The service fee is subject to change depending upon the service type requested and will be updated after confirmation. The service turnaround time is approximate 6-7 days.  
  • Chambers of Commerce Certificate of Origin: This service is to request Chamber of Commerce certificates of origin (e-Certificate). The service turnaround time is 24-48 hours. 

Important note: these add on services are not available for orders fulfilled by USP Authorized 3rd party service providers.

General Information

  • USP uses FedEx as its default shipping carrier. We use alternative carriers for locations with no FedEx service.
  • For eligible items, customers may choose a carrier by giving USP their DHL (international only), UPS, or FedEx account number for eligible items.
  • USP does not ship products to post office boxes. Please include a street address or your order will not be delivered.
  • International customers are responsible for paying all customs duties, taxes, or tariffs levied for importation of USP products.
  • Customers can request special, guaranteed, or same-day shipping for an additional US $75.00 charge.
  • USP ships all Reference Standards orders via air courier.

Surcharges for International Controlled Substances and Dangerous Goods

A $235 per-order surcharge applies to:

  • Controlled substances shipped internationally.
  • Dangerous shipments to select countries

NOTE: These charges do not stack, meaning the $235 surcharge is only applied once, even when sending controlled and dangerous goods, for example.

Preferred Carriers for Dangerous Goods

Reference Standards classified as fully regulated dangerous goods have specific shipping requirements. All dangerous goods and dry ice shipments will default to the preferred carriers based on availability, cost, and service provided. Any country that USP cannot move Dangerous Goods or dry ice shipments by FedEx, DHL, or UPS will default to be transported via Air Freight/Door to Airport service. 

Special Instructions for Ordering Controlled Substances

Controlled Substances and List Chemicals are Reference Standard items regulated by THE U.S. DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION(DEA).

Requirements for Controlled Substance and List Chemical Orders Shipped Within The United States:

List Chemicals

  • Copy of customer's valid DEA registration or letter on company letterhead stating the intended use of the list chemical for each order placed

DEA Schedules I and II:

  • Copy of customer's valid DEA registration on file with USP
  • DEA form 222, properly completed

DEA Schedules III, IV, and V:

  • Copy of customer's valid DEA registration on file with USP

Requirements for Controlled Substance and List Chemical Orders Shipped Outside of The United States:

USP can only ship Controlled Substances and List Chemicals outside of The United States with approval to export from the U.S. DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION (DEA). To process your order, the following documents are required to be submitted:

  • Import permit or letter of no objection valid for at least three (3) months at the time of order submission to USP
  • Statement of End Use and No-Re-Export Statement issued & signed by the importer, printed on Importer’s company letterhead.
  • English translation for all documents which are not written in English
  • Purchase order (PO) for credit term Customers, prepayment for immediate/cash advance payment term Customers

General Information

  • US DEA regulated items are shipped outside of The United States by AIR FREIGHT/DOOR TO AIRPORT or FedEx Air (door to door) Service. Please check which USP shipping method complies with importing regulations in your country.
  • There is an additional fee of US$25.00 to each unit price of USP DEA controlled substance and list chemical reference standard shipping outside of the United States.
  • Special Handling fees may be charged by USP to obtain certificates or documents required by foreign countries in order to import USP Reference Materials. These fees are in addition to the cost imposed by the foreign authority to obtain the certificate(s). The special handling fee is US$25.00 per certificate.
