International Verification Activities

In 2001, USP launched its Dietary Supplement Verification Program (DSVP), providing manufacturers and suppliers worldwide independent, third-party laboratory testing and auditing services for verifying the quality, purity, potency, and strength of dietary ingredients bought and sold in the global marketplace. Building on DSVP's appeal to the U.S. market, USP expanded its verification services globally with the 2004 release of the Dietary Ingredient Verification Program (IVP) for dietary ingredients manufactured and used worldwide, and again in 2006 with the Pharmaceutical Ingredient Verification Program (PIVP) for pharmaceutical ingredients and excipients traded globally. USP's state-of-the-art laboratories in India and China provide integral support for IVP and PIVP, respectively.
