USP's Eight Regions and Champions

During this period, to better facilitate and implement global programs and activities, USP divided the world into eight working regions, each of which has an assigned "champion". The regions are (North America, Latin America, West Europe, East Europe, Middle East/North Africa, South Asia, East Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa). Regional champions work with the CEO and others to build and advance relations with ministerial and regulatory agencies, drug control laboratories, compendial bodies, manufacturing trade associations, and others through MOUs and other tools.
